Operation Africa - Arts for Orphans

As a group of passionate actors and artists, we're heading to Kenya to host a theatre/art/dance/music camp for the children at an orphanage and school.
A lot of the kids have been orphaned and live much harder lives than the average American child. While assisting them medically has been necessary, we also think providing them with opportunities to be creative will be just as beneficial to their health and development. These kids have so much energy and giving them the opportunity to express themselves creatively will bring so much joy to their lives and open so many doors in their imagination.
Our goals for the camp are to teach them skits, dances, songs and bring some instruments and teach them how to play. Even getting them a projector for the school and have movie nights with the kids, is something we'd love to offer.(Lion King, etc.) These kids have NEVER seen an actual movie! Can you believe that? Movies were one of the most influential parts of our growing up, and we would LOVE to expose their little minds to the magic these “moving pictures” bring.
As filmmakers, we would even love put together our own film while there, so the kids can see themselves on the big screen. The possibilities are endless!
EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR CAN HELP! All donations and every dollar will be spent towards supplies for the school and the kids, such as medications, toiletries, vitamins, clothing, feminine hygine products etc.
