For those of you who don't know me, my name is Kim. I've been a Nanny for 20 years, but this year I transitioned to serving full time at KidTowne, a preschool hosted by Hope Community Church.
As a nanny/childcare provider my favorite thing is experiencing the world afresh with every new kid. I love seeing how they process things which many of us take for granted. Each moment is wonderful and exciting.
In my years as a nanny, I've cared for 10 kids. As they have grown up, I have done my best to stay connected to them for birthdays, graduations, etc. God has truly blessed me with each family I've cared for. But I've always thought: I can't wait for someone to call me mom some day. What a magical moment.
Though there is a feeling of loss every time child moves on, God brings me back to Jeremiah 29:11. He has a plan for me!
As I thought about this truth more recently, I began asking myself what has kept me all these years from adopting. Most of the time it was just fear or the hope of getting married kept me from pursuing it. Not anymore. I know there are children out there who need a mom just as much as I want to be one. I know that I have a lot of love to give and a great family surrounding me. Not to mention, God will be with me.
Which brings me to take the first practical
Step of Faith. Fundraising. As you may know the cost of this dream is more than I can cover on my own but with God all things are possible. Adoption can range anywhere from $30,000 to $40,000 So I want to invite you, family, friends, coworkers and church to be a part of this Journey with me!

Pray! Please pray for each and every detail about this process. Those of you who have experience with adoption may have special incite into what to pray.
Sponsor a Puzzle piece! In an effort to help cover the extra cost of foster/adoption, I wanted to give my loved ones and anyone else who’s heart is so inclined an opportunity to sponsor a puzzle piece. For every $20 I receive I will write your name on the back of a puzzle piece. When we finally have all the “pieces” of our family together, we will display our completed puzzle in a double-sided frame in our home. A visual reminder of all of the people who helped bring our family together.
This puzzle will be something we can treasure for years to come, and someday, tell my children the story of how a community came together so that we could.
