100 Miles for Officer Tudor

This event is to raise funds for Officer Craig Tudor, a Hazelwood, MO police officer who was critically injured when he was hit by another vehicle while on duty when responding to a call. The accident was severe, and he sustained spinal injuries. His medical bills are already extensive.
I am a family friend of Officer Tudor's wife, Christine Her mother, Dona Comfort Schaefer, is one of my dearest friends. It is difficult to watch loved ones endure this kind of event and be essentially powerless to help. We can offer so little to help change the situation they find themselves in, but what help we may be able to offer is to lessen some financial worries. Even by a little.
I have done only one other 100 mile bike ride, and that was for donations as well, to a friend with a traumatic brain injury. Pedaling for a purpose seems to help me reach the finish line. I will be riding in the Tour de Cape in Cape Girardeau, MO, on October 1.
I am hoping to raise $1500, or $15 a mile, and 100% of the proceeds will take the form of a check to Officer Tudor and Christine.
