Off Road Rescue Vehicle Replacement

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the death of my 2000 Ford Excursion, Rescue 1 (O'l Betsy). The motor let go yesterday after over 300,000 miles of service to me, our team, dozens of promoters and 1000's of off road racers over the last nearly 11 years. this truck averages nearly 90 days a year in the dirt at events in Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah.
After consulting with Ford, it seems like it would be better to focus funds at a new vehicle that can continue our teams mission of helping others in extreme situations at off road races. Motor replacement would have been over 10,000 and would have still meant the remainder of the suspension and drivetrain have heavy, hard miles on it.
Our team hates asking for help, but the reality is it is absolutely vital to replace this truck.
This truck is unlike almost any other carrying advanced foam fire suppression, hydraulic extrication and advanced medical equipment to some of the most challenging areas. All of that equipment can be easily transferred into a new platform.
This fund is to help fund the replacement of this truck from Team Ford (Goal is a F-350, 4x4 Diesel Crew Cab) capable of the amount of equipment we carry in a reliable vehicle as well as off set the set-up costs for radios, emergency lights, Decals, and other required upgrades for our abuse.
Regardless if this fund raises a dollar or the full amount, make no mistake, my team will remain committed to off road racers and be there to serve. We love our race promoters, our racers and of course our dirt sports. However without a heavy duty reliable replacement truck, our equipmet at events will be deminished greatly.
We know and completely understand that there are many other "causes" and needs especially during the holiday season but would be honored if you would consider getting us back on the road with a New Rescue 1!
