Fund for Oaxacan Journalists

In Oaxaca, protests against the privatization of education has led to widespread police crackdown, repression and violence.

Avispia Midia, a group of independent journalists have been covering the events since day one. In the midst of bullets and teargas, we have been on the ground sharing images and analysis that is not available anywhere else. Many of us originate in Oaxaca and others are from other countries in the Global South who also face the constant threat of police violence and state repression.

In our work we have seen comrades that have been shot and killed standing very close to us so we ask for your economic support to help us acquire tools that we can use to protect ourselves as we report on these events.
