UCC RFC Old Boys Charity Fundraiser

UCC Rugby Football club is an old and proud part of college life in UCC, and has been an integral part of the college experience for countless students throughout the years. Many players look back fondly on their time in UCC RFC as one of their best experiences of sports and camaraderie.
Bearing this in mind, in recent years a team of UCC Old Boys has been formed to take on the current UCC team, comprising of past players who have worn the famous skull and crossbones. Not only are these players looking to recapture their youthful playing days, they are also seeking to give something back to the community that helped to mould them into the people they are today.
With the occasion of the Old Boys game gathering popularity over the past few years, this year we have joined forces with the Cork City Hospitals Club to further our wishes to help the community that nurtured us. The Cork City Hospitals Children's Club was founded in 1992 by a small group of volunteers who took a group of deserving children on the trip of a lifetime to Disneyland. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength and now has over 40 volunteers. Throughout the year, the Cork City Hospitals Children's Club brings sick and deserving children from CUH, Mercy Hospital, St. Gabriel's and the Cork Deaf Association on numerous trips, as well as hosting many fun and exciting events, the pinnacle of which is the annual trip to Disneyland.
We hope to contribute in some small way to the brilliant, selfless work that these fantastic people do and would ask you to help us by contributing anything you can to the cause, either online or by attending the event.
The Old Boys game takes place in the Mardyke Sportsground on Saturday, 12th of March. The UCC ladies team game kicks off at 10.30am and the Old Boys at 12 noon, a great day out for all the fmaily is ensured, with rumours of appearances by some well known faces (both from the world of sport and the world of Disney). We look forward to greeting you there, and thank you for any and all kind donations
