K-9 Patrol Team for the APD

The City of Anadarko and The Anadarko Police Department are attempting to initiate a K-9 officer program. Anadarko has had K-9 officers in the past but do to budget constraints the program was discontinued years ago. We are asking for the help of the public to help spread the word to raise funds for this program.  We strongly believe that a K-9 officer for the City of Anadarko would be a great asset in our fight against drugs and the violence that comes with the drug trafficking trade that goes on in our community. This program is no small task and will require a considerable startup cost to include a training for officers and a K-9, a specialty police vehicle, and equipment just to name a few things. The City can maintain a K-9 unit but the startup costs are beyond our abilities to budget this year. We know that together we can raise the money to bring this great asset to our community and help us to with a tool that will help us combat the drugs and violence plaguing our community.
