In October 2015, 8-year-old Mila Sorlie underwent surgery to remove an egg-sized brain tumor. Although surgery was successful, the tumor was found to be cancerous ... an extremely rare (200 cases per year) and highly aggressive brain cancer that generally strikes children around Mila's age.

She finished 6 weeks radiation (whole brain and targeted) in December, 2015.  In January, 2016, she started her first chemotherapy and has 5 more remaining chemo treatments to go before completing treatment in June, 2016.  It’s been a rough journey but Mila is a girl with an abundance of strength, grace, and love. Not only that, she is well-equipped with an essential X-factor: her amazing family, friends, and community.

Unfortunately, her many and often unpredictable treatments have meant additional expenses and missed work for her parents, Teresa and Matthew, who are doing their best to juggle multiple demands.

Let’s help Mila’s family so that Matthew and Teresa can fully be with Mila through this long, grueling journey. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by Friday, March 11, 2016.  I know many of you have already supported the Sorlies via meals and the T-shirt campaign and they are truly grateful… but let’s continue to show Mila’s family that they are surrounded by a community of friends, family and colleagues who love and support them.  Thank you for your support and love!
