Nutcracker in Oak Park

Since 2013 The Natalia Johnson Conservatory of Ballet has delighted audiences with The Nutcracker in Oak Park Ballet.

Our studio renovation is seriously behind schedule. As a result there has been an interruption in our operations to include our fundraising, costume and set design efforts. As we race to get back on track, we need your help with mandatory operational expenses until we are up and running and able to offer our full schedule of classes, ranging from ballet to hip hop.

We are asking for donations in any amount so that we are not forced to cancel our production.

The NJC Nutcracker is a modern twist on the sometimes stale Nutcracker Ballet. Set in the living room of Oak Park's Evans Family, there are dancing sugar plums, toy soldiers and a beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. There's also a moon walking rat king, annoying kid sister Keke and Uncle Dross who is trying to get his rap CD dropped by Christmas morning. You get the idea.....

The NJC Ballet is under the Girls Self-Esteem Program (G-SEP) non-profit 501c3 27-4262048.
G-SEP is a mentoring program for high achieving girls. Girls 2-18 learn the importance of carrying themselves with poise, grace and dignity.

G-SEP classes include verbal judo, self-defense, female social skills, sisterhood, healthy eating, public speaking, dance, physical fitness and community service.

G-SEP recently added SWAGG, Strong Willed, Gallant, Gentlemen. SWAGG is the brother program to G-SEP. Male mentors teach boys 4-15 how to carry themselves with dignity. Emphasis is placed on career planning, diction and when it's time to take off the sneakers, put on dress shoes and a tie.
