Maggie Salzberg has saved a lot of lives – in her work as a devoted vet tech, and when she donated a kidney to her sister Cindy. Last year, she was the one who needed saving.
Diagnosed with late stage, metastasized breast cancer, she started chemotherapy hoping that she’d survive long enough to see her seven-month-old grandson say his first word.
Amazingly, she responded so well to treatment that her cancer is now in remission.
Maggie is a miracle patient, but now she needs another miracle.
When she was diagnosed, she had to leave her rental house, car, and most of her possessions behind, so that she could come live with her sister during treatment. Now, she’s in a difficult position: thrilled to be alive and to have the hope of many years ahead of her, but desperately needing help to make a new start.
Unfortunately, our family is also going through struggles, including unemployment and serious illness, and we can’t help her as much as we so desperately wish we could. That’s why we’ve started this fund, in the hope that we can give her a great new start in this unexpected chapter in her life.
With your help, we can give Maggie money to cover expenses like a security deposit and rent on a reasonably priced apartment near her doctors and family, a used car, and gas and car insurance money, until she gets on her feet.
After all her suffering and sacrifices, Maggie deserves a fresh start. Please help us help our wonderful mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Any donations to Maggie are extremely appreciated.
