Northern Cheyenne Emergency Shelter Donation Drive
Donation protected
Hello Everyone
My name is Lauren Small Rodriguez, I'm an Indigenous organizer located in Missoula Montana.
I am a tribal member from the Northern Cheyenne Nation.
I am helping organize a fundraiser to the Northern Cheyenne Emergency Shelter.
Currently there is no shelter located in Lame Deer, Montana (the heart of the Northern Cheyenne reservation).
Due to the harsh cold weather, this an Emergency Situation. We have homeless tribal members who are in need of a place to keep warm. Including families who are unable to provide adequate heat for their homes.
The Northern Cheyenne Tribal Chambers has opened doors as the Emergency Warming Shelter.
Currently, 24 bed cots have been provided.
The coordinator for
Disaster Emergency Services, Theresa Small has reached out for donations.
+In need for sleeping bags and blankets.
+ Locally, I'm organizing the blanket and coat donation drive in Missoula. Next week January 8th 2019 I will bring all donations to the Northern Cheyenne Emergency Shelter.
My goal is to get as many warm blankets and sleeping bags to provide ALL bed cots available at the emergency shelter located in the tribal chambers.
Monetary donations will provide funds to purchase sleeping bags at Costco, Shopko and Walmart.
Please spread Love and Support Missoula Community♥️ To My Tribal Community
