North Bay Fire Relief

My name is Dana Damara and I am a yoga instructor here in the North Bay and SF.  I am raising money for the families directly affected by the fires that have ripped through our own backyard.  Actually .. for one in particular family who wants to remain unnamed.  

She is a single mom (recently divorced) with two boys and has no family here.  She took my yoga teacher training a year ago and was on the road to supporting people in her community through meditation at her place of employment and rebuliding her life.  

She is an amazing young woman with a heart of gold and a fierce fire within her.  She needs our support.  

I understand that so many people are affected and have close friends and family who have been affected.  It's all so devastating.  I am doing what I can do here.  It hasn't been easy for any of us who are awake to what's going on in the world.  We are all affected by what happens on the planet at any given time.  And when it happens week after week, and then hits in your own backyard ... well... .it gets very, very real.  

What I have found is that the power of the yoga community is fierce.  When I moved here, just 5 years ago, with only what fit in my car after leaving my own marriage, I had an outpouring of love and support from this community from people I didn't even know.  My story is very different ... I chose to leave, this woman did not.  

THIS ENTIRE WEEK - I will continue gathering tangible donations during my classes, and then evaluate where to bring them and when. New centers to donate are opening up all over my community.  I also wanted to offer a space for monetary donations to help those directly in need - so here's the gofundme.

I am sitting in so much gratitude and grace for this community.  In awe of such support, love and graciousness for family, friends and strangers.
