James is my second eldest child and my super special young man being that he is high functioning on the autism spectrum. Late last year we encountered a devastating encounter with local social services after overcoming the destruction of hurricane Matthew.

After much hard work, our family regained our footing and began to restore ourselves and finally put the pieces of our lives back together.

Upon reaching out to local social services: we were targeted and profiled due to James being autistic and our family transitioning from homeless to a permanent residence. Social services refused to lend us any support, or provide information to assist us in gaining a foothold to restoring our lives as a family caring for a disabled adult. This led to abuse of authority on behalf of Social Services of Cleveland County leading to the illegal removal of my son from our home by police warrant.

We are diligently working towards reuniting James with our family, due to the enormous hardship this has caused we are reaching to our communities online for support. James has a bright and promising future to attend nonPariel Institute in, Texas where he will study video game design and computer engineering. James has his own service dog Belle who was left behind with us; Belle is the #1 stress reliever when James' anxiety kicks in, without her love and affection, James could be experiencing stress related stimulation for hours until he's able to self- soothe.

It has been 6 long months since James has seen his family, most of all his very best friend and younger brother Ben. We are grateful for the progress we've made thus far, we just need a boost to help us win this battle of gross injustice infringing on the rights of a disabled adult, removing his right to access the community, housing him in substandard conditions where he is exposed to violence and mental and emotional abuse and neglect, and limited access to phone contact and everyday resources such as his own money, trips to the store for personal items and exposure to neglegent caregivers who are under qualified to care for people on the autism spectrum.

Please share our story and allow others to join with you in support of the Human and Constitutional rights of James. Our jury trial begins April 10, 2018, at the Cleveland County Court House 100 Justice Place; Shelby, NC.

All proceeds go strictly for legal expenses and support for James' attorneys and any expenses that involve this case for James. Let's bring James home safely by his 24th birthday April 22, 2018!!
