Hello :)

Cristina Nina Here :)

I am blessed to embark on an exciting personal adventure, where I will be doing a Mission Trip for nine months starting in October this year.  It is part of the Emmanuel School of Mission (ESM) where I will be participating in a compassion outreach to the poor communities in the South of Bronx, New York. But I am hoping to get some help getting/ while over there.

I have always felt the desire to do a Mission Trip and about a month ago I stumbled upon this opportunity. Super random but also a life changing choice where I am trying to trust in God.  Fast forward and I have quit my job and getting ready to head off to have some quality time with Our Lord.

This Mission School is based on 4 pillars~

1).Spiritual Life: Daily Mass, adoration and retreats.

2). Intellectual Formation: Classes in Scripture, Theology, Philosophy, Apologetics, Sacraments, Moral Theology, Anthropology, Marriage and Family, Church history and more.

3). Community Life: Living with people of different nationalities.

4). Mission Work: Including evangelisation in schools, pubs, parishes and even on the streets. We also meet the poor and homeless of NYC and do work with the Missionary Sisters of Charity.

I know that God has a hold of my heart and I believe that this is an opportunity to really strengthen my faith and rekindle my love for the Church.

I ask first and foremost that you please keep me in your prayers. Further to this, the cost of ESM New York is $20,000, which includes all living expenses, retreats, mission trips and World Youth Day 2019.
I would be absolutely super appreciative and grateful for any donations of any size to my mission. Whether this be a once off donation or an ongoing donation for the nine months that I am over there.
Please don’t be afraid to send me any prayer intentions you may have (whether you’re able to fund me or not).

Thank you for your generosity and support!
Hope you have a wonderful nine + months. :D

G’DAY mates!
Hello again from the USA, now in March 2019 and the beginning of lent.
The ESM NY crew travelled to the Land of the DUCKS- THE MIGHTY DUCKS! Twin cities of St. Paul and Minnesota! It was such a great mission trip and I really felt as though despite being way out of my comfort zone, each day was jammed packed with adventure and growing. We were welcomed into 3 schools where we ran some retreats and lessons for the teens. We were also welcomed into the community events with the refugees, open homes and the parish. The people are so kind, generous and a token to the awesomeness of God!
OH and most importantly the snow….as an aussie I am thoroughly pleased with having witnessed the remnants of the snow storm! Yay! :)

Hola mi familia y amigos!

Thank you so much for your generosity whether it be your time in reading this, your thoughts, prayers, and/or donations!

February marks the 5th month of this mission trip and I am super LUCKY and grateful to God for the ridiculous amount of blessings coming my way.

You may have seen in other posts but yes- I made it to CENTRAL AMERICA- Panama for JMJ 2019 (World Youth Day). We began with a Emmanuel community forum in Costa Rica.

God really called each and everyone to that JMJ. I know it wasn’t easy for many, especially the Aussies but it was truly amazing to meet and speak to so many people ready and willing to do God’s will.

Personally I wanted to rekindle a love for the Catholic Church. In learning more about my Church which Jesus Himself gave, I find myself also learning more and more about Mary, who Jesus Himself gave to me as a mother as well.
Inspired by Our Lady herself- this JMJ theme was:
Here I am, the servant of the Lord.
Speak your Word in me and let your Will be done.

Nothing beats hanging around a whole bunch of youth just like me wanting to know more about God and our church!

Anyways hope you are all well and keep smiling :D
God Bless and thank you!

Hello Lovely People!

Here I am in New York, writing to you from The Bronx! Currently at the beginning of the 3rd month of this nine month program. So far it’s been such a blessing and gift that pushes me outside of my comfort zone- but not in the bad sense at all!
We’ve been doing heaps and each day is jammed packed from 7am -10:30pm! (way earlier than what I am use to even at work :P- how good is sleep ----zzzz)

For these updates I have decided to tell you a little bit about each pillar.

Pillar (or ‘pillows’ because accents get lost in translation) 1: Spiritual Life:
Who ever said that God changes people- sure got that right! On top of daily adoration, mass, and praise we have also had a silent retreat and some ‘desert days’ (which are silent days when can go anywhere to pray). God is so good and I feel really excited to be able to just get to know Him with as much as He wants to reveal to us. The thing is "the more time we give to him the more time we find to do other things”. (the wise words from my Papito!)

So I hope this message finds you well, in good health and spirit for the beginning of Advent and the coming of Jesus in Christmas!

I miss my family and friends like a LOT but sending through some love! <3 Thank you for your continued support, thoughts and/or prayers.

Also on the 3/12/2018: I was walking from Time Square to the Subway and felt like we are just all fishes. Imagine the Turtle scene in ‘Finding Nemo’. There were so many people everywhere that it created almost an oceans current. You had to flow with the people in the crowd and you know how I am smaller than average- well I survived! If only the people around me could look up and be like "duuuudde" (that would be entertaining hohoho) - fishes!
