Nick Exline is a candidate for the South Tahoe Public Utility District Board and he is asking for your vote on November 6th. He will bring innovative and forward thinking ideas to the South Tahoe PUD Board that for too long as been stuck in the past.  His professional experience as a land use planner, navigating the Tahoe Basin’s difficult regulatory environment, gives him an insight into how things work and how they can be solved.  Professionally he has developed systems that have restored streams, conserved historic pieces of land, opened up new mountain biking terrain, reduced energy use and developed fire systems in areas of Tahoe that were previously without.  All these achievements were done without any tax or ratepayer money and provided a significant return on investment. 

Nick’s civic engagement brought him to working with the City of South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Unified School District and local businesses as they transition to a more sustainable future and work toward reaching their 100% renewable electricity goals.  These sustainability and renewable energy efforts are resulting in significant cost savings for the community.  He will bring these experiences to the South Tahoe PUD Board and work to put the district on a more economically and environmentally sustainable path.  The cost savings we will see from the installation of renewable energy of STPUD’s land will not only lower our carbon footprint, but will save STPUD millions on their energy bills.  These savings will be used to keep your rates low, repair our crumbling infrastructure and expand fire protection to everyone in our community.

 If he is fortunate enough to be elected he will use whatever opportunity he has to address one of the primary concerns that plagues our community, a lack of affordable housing.  He will also partner with the transportation community to provide any cooperation needed as they look to expand transportation options on the South Shore.
