Let's build a neighborhood

Building a predictable, intentional community has proven to be in higher demand and in turn more costly than we anticipated. As a group of special educators, we envision a different kind of supported living situation for the growing number of young men and women we have come to know who, in spite of their disability, have a strong need and desire to live alone in their own home. Not everyone can enjoy a group home situation and the unpredictability of roommates and staff. The need for autonomy along with the need for supervision and support have left this group of individuals living in their parents home and isolated from their peers. We believe there is a better way to meet the needs of this group of individuals by creating an integrated community of 22 small homes in a congregate housing setting with opportunities to prepare meals together and host or participate a variety of work and life changing activities at the highest possible level of iindependence. We have the land and community space, we have incredibly competent and supportive staff, non-profit status, and we now need your help to build a road and infrastructure to allow this small predictable intentional community to welcome it's residents to a place designed exactly for them.
