Help Build the Anti-Trump Student Movement

The new Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is a multi-issue, non-tendency activist organization leading the student movement on campuses across the country, and we need your help to continue building that struggle!

This September is crucial! It's the start of a new semester, a time when hitting the streets and mobilizing new students is a key factor in the development of progressive change in our universities and colleges. If we don't hit this organizational drive with our full force and total strength, we won't be a great enough force to oppose racist university policies, soaring tuition hikes, and increased coordination between our schools and the Trump administration.

September is also how we plan to make sure we're ready: the 2019 SDS National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida, the first ever SDS convention in the traditionally African-American-majority South. This is important! The national convention is the one time a year we can connect in person with fellow activist from coast to coast, to share ideas and tactics, and become better activists. After the national convention, we'll be fully recharged, with bold new plans to win demands.

But here's where we need your help: We need to get there! For most of our chapters, Florida is far away, presenting a difficult financial strain. We want to make sure we can get as many of our people there as possible, new and veteran activists alike! We need food, transportation, housing, and conference rooms. We know we'll make it, but we need your help first.
