New Truck (Cafe turns 1!)

Tax deductible
Its hard to believe that Karma Cafe has almost been open for 1 year! We believe everyone deserves to eat regardless of race, creed or socio-economic situation. Over the past year we have helped countless people get a good meal with our "Pay as you feel" or "Pay as you can" system of operating.

Opening Day, November 15, 2016

We have weathered the storm, facing the trials and tribulations that any restaurant expects in it's first year, not to mention the added struggles that come with running a non-profit donation based operation!

I have to thank all of our continuous supporters for making our first year a success.  We look forward to many more years of feeding, serving and helping those in need, together. Credit: Julianna Willis.

Down to the brass tax...

For three years Wade's beloved Land Rover ("Stormtrooper") has been the most important tool in running our organization.  "Stormtrooper"

From daily supply shopping runs, hauling equipment and catering supplies, to recycling runs, transporting farm and garden supplies, and hauling our food trailer to off-site locations like the Downtown Growers' Market, Globalquerque, and the Railyards; The Rover has gotten us to where we are now. @ Downtown Growers' Market
Getting new tires for trailer

Remember two years ago when we built our food trailer? Yep, the Rover hauled all of the building supplies to make that project happen. It has even been there to help out our friends at Dig and Serve with their pop-up events. The Rover hauled the building supplies (on its roof!)

Basically, without this resource, reliable transportation, Food Karma and the Karma Cafe would not exist.

But all things come to an end... with high mileage and ever increasing maintenance issues,  the Rover has finally seen it's last workday.

Introducing Food Karma's new company vehicle - "Dolly"! "Dolly"

This vehicle is exactly what our organization needs to keep us cooking. It's newer and more reliable, has an extended warranty, and will be a safer vehicle for towing our big ole' food trailer around town and out of the city.

To buy this necessary piece of equipment, Food Karma has been indebted $17,000.

As a community organization, we have always reached out to our supporters to help us with our mission. This is no different! Please help us, in whatever capacity possible, with some of the cost of our company vehicle. The quicker we can pay this truck off, the more we will save on interest payments.

Thank you for taking the time to read and consider supporting us!
With enormous gratitude,
The Food Karma/ Karma Cafe Team!
