New Hardware for Hidden Valley

Donation protected
Hi Everyone! I have been asked to update the campaign to keep the funding coming in. So far we have raised over $2000! While this is incredible and many, many bolts have been replaced at Hidden Valley, the battle is far from over.

Any of those who have climbed in the past 6 months, will have seen new, shiny bolts or glue-ins covering most of the first five distinct climbing areas at Hidden Valley and can see the difference! So many bolts have been replaced that it has become a brand new sport climbing area! That said, there are still walls that badly need new bolts and there is the right side of the parking lot that has only a handful of new bolts.

Every penny that has been donated to this fund has gone directly to new hardware and will continue until we have reached our goal. We need money for glue. drill bits, bolts and their accessories. Please consider a donation and tell your friends and family. We are making steady progress and have gained new volunteers to help make this place safe again. Thank you, thank you to all who have donated time and money on this project!
If this is your first time seeing this, please read below.

Hidden Valley is in need of help!

It is a great local climbing area for the Tri-State region. For many, it's less than a 2 hour drive and provides over 400 routes on unique sandstone. Hidden Valley is an excellent resource for the beginner, weekend warrior and even a great place to tick off hard projects. And to top it off it's access is climber owned!

With ownership comes stewardship and this is where you can not only help, but reap the benefits for as long as you climb here! Almost all of the bolts at Hidden Valley are of non-stainless steel and have seen over 25 years of southeastern weather of heavy rain, fog, snow and humidity. This has caused severe corrosion on the bolts placed in the soft sandstone rock.

We now have the knowledge and technology to sustainably rebolt the cliffline with stainless anchors. The small group of people who have the experience to rebolt the climbing routes are only able to get grants once a year with a limited amount of bolts to do the work. My purpose in asking for donations is to fill in the gaps between getting grants. Not only that, but we need to replace hundreds of bolts, so it's going to take some time.

Your donation will go directly to the replacement of old bolts in real time. We will keep volunteering our time if we have the bolts in hand.

I have been personally climbing in Hidden Valley since the mid 90's and have seen the bolts go bad and recognize that this beautiful place so badly needs work to be safe for all. Donating just $15 gets hardware on the rock and $100 can get an entire route completed. Your donation will get us the hardware to keep Hidden Valley the premier sport climbing area for locals.

Wow so grateful if how quickly we raised $1000 in less than 18hrs! Let's keep this sending train going up to $2000!
