Neighbors in Need Fundraiser

So far, Neighbors in Need has been able to function very well with very little money. We’ve become an unofficial umbrella organization for over 30 local nonprofits and other organizations, where everyone is welcome to come "stuff wrangle" on behalf of those they are mentoring or in other ways assisting, learn from and about each other, network, and share opportunities & news, all while remaining nimble and unofficial.
So many of our members have been able to hustle successfully for furniture, mattresses, clothes, backpacks, bus passes, body care, personal items and much more. Occasionally, however, we’ve also had to raise funds to cover legal fees, security deposits, first month's rent, emergency travel expenses, and bus passes, etc.
While fundraising isn’t our primary focus, more and more it seems, we are faced with situations where having cash available would be pretty helpful. So, we are holding a fundraiser. We are doing so in order to:
1. Build an "info-only" web presence outside of Facebook, primarily so that folks who are not yet on Facebook can find us.
2. Have a small slush fund for emergencies, for the occasional time when the group cannot meet a dire need.
3. Be able to afford an occasional Uhaul rental, if there is no truck available, or fill an otherwise unforeseen need, at our discretion.
