ROSIE HARRIST's HOME DISASTER FUND

Donation protected
This is about my Mom, Rosie Harrist.  She has lived in her home for over 40 years in Lake Worth.  She has paid her taxes all these years and even had a cafe for over 30 years in Lake Worth.  She has definetly made her contributions to the City.  After selling her cafe she went to work for Walmart in Lake Worth for another 10 years.  She will be 89 on her birthday in December.  She is a wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother.  We all love coming over to Mom's house for all special occasions and the holidays.  Mom is devastated with this reason disaster in her home.  Thursday, September 10th Mom's home was flooded with sewage from the City's sewer line.  There was over 2 inches of sewage flowing into her home from her front bathroom, out her air conditioner into her two front bedrooms, hallway, front entrance and her dining room.  She was forced out of her home, the City risk assesment person told her she could not stay in her home due to all the bacteria and toxic fumes.  Yet the City's insurance denied the claim stating that it was not the City's fault.  Apparently it was cause by a blockage somewhere within the line which was unblocked and that caused the back-up into her home.  Her homeowner's insurance also denied coverage stating that she did not have the additional addendum that covered sewage backup or water overflow issues.  With both of these denials there is no way that she is able to afford to pay for all of this damage to her home.  This is an elderly woman on a fixed income of just social security.  She is currently staying with me, yet she goes to her home everyday and sits in her driveway just yearning to come back home and stay in her own home.  It just breaks my heart to see her missing her home and her best friend, her cat.  We are trying to help her all we can, but my husband is also on social security disability.  This is why I am setting this fund up for her.  She does not like asking anyone for help and has always taken care of herself, her kids, and even some grandkids.  So please if you feel it within her heart to help Rosie, she will be truly grateful.  We thank you and bless you for any and all help.

Rosie's daughter, Debbie Miller.
