NAU Concrete Canoe

Donation protected
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) hosts the annual National Concrete Canoe Competition for engineering students to compete in. This event will be held in Irvine California on April 6-8, 2017. I wanted to give you an opportunity to get involved and support the growth of future civil engineers.

The National Concrete Canoe Competition involves building a functional canoe made of concrete that must meet stringent specifications provided by the competition comity. These specifications change each year to challenge students to use their creativity while building teamwork, acquiring effective communication skills, and generating new and innovative ideas. Each team is ranked based on its final product, race results, design, and oral presentation.

Every year, Northern Arizona University (NAU) selects five students to take on this competition as their senior capstone project in order to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. The competition requires the acquisition of materials and equipment in addition to the application of hard work and ingenuity. As aspiring civil engineers, we would greatly appreciate your support in achieving our goals by providing a monetary donation.

Please feel free to contact Matthew Vigil our Project Manager  if you want to follow our progress or have any questions. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
