Natalie and Charlotte Medical Bills

My name is Melissa. I am incredibly lucky and thankful to have two beautiful and very strong baby girls. Natalie was born at 27 weeks weighing only 1 pounds 11 ounces, 9 in. long, and 11 months later Charlotte was born at 29 weeks weighing 2 pounds 6 ounces, 14 in. long. They are the reason I have decided to create this GoFundMe page, to raise money for their medical bills. I don’t think anyone ever expects to have complications during pregnancy. I know I definitely did not expect my children to have to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit for 3 months each. I remember going to the hospital and being so scared! I needed an emergency C-Section and I knew it was far too early to have a baby but the longer she stayed in me the sicker I got, we had no choice! She was the smallest baby I had ever seen, I was afraid to touch her in fear of hurting her. Three days after Natalie was born I was still in the hospital trying to recover from surgery and get my blood pressure down when my fiancé got fired from his job for missing work so he could be there for our daughter in the NICU. I immediately went back to work and school and was able graduate before Natalie came home. It broke my heart that I wasnt able to stay with my daughter but we needed to be able to provide for her. When I started getting the medical bills in the mail I was horrified my insurance only covered about 80% which seems like a lot but I was left with thousands of dollars in bills. Before I could even attempt to start paying them I myself was hospitalized again for almost 2 months until they gave me an emergency C-Section to deliver my younger daughter Charlotte. She also stayed in the NICU for 3 months. Luckily a family member allowed us to temporarily move in with them and since we have been able to pay off almost $10,000 worth of medical bills however we still have a very long way to go. We are trying to get a home of our own but I need to pay off as much of our medical bills as possible first. Normally I would never ask for help like this but my daughters have been through so much and they deserve a home.
