Wings of Aloha Dog Escort to NW

The Maui Humane society has a program called Wings of Aloha. Northwest residents vacationing to Maui can escort a dog back to the Northwest. This program helps dogs be transferred from the overcrowded Maui shelter to Washington or Oregon shelters which have a high need for dogs and guarantees adoption.
Through an arrangement with Alaska Airlines for discounted fare, the dogs can be escorted with a returning tourist on a nonstop flight to Seattle or Portland and go to a shelter for adoption.
Volunteers on both ends handle the logistics. The Maui shelters pays the discounted rate given by the airline and provides the dog crate, as well as the necessary medical papers.
Funds are desperately needed to pay for the dog crates, bedding, dishes, food and airfare.
