As we all know, California is experiencing the deadliest fire in the State's history. As I type this with my heater on 80 degrees under the comfort of my two fluffy blankets away from the smoke outside, there's someone outside in 40 degree temperatures breathing this toxic air. Someone who is human. Someone who may have a respiratory problem. Someone who is freezing. Someone who's having trouble breathing. Someone who may have a child. Someone who may be hungry. There's someone. And their story also matters.
I'll be going to either Lowe's or Home Depot first thing tomorrow morning (11/16). The N95 respirator masks have been recommended by public health professionals. Each mask costs $3-4. I hope to distribute these masks tomorrow evening inshaAllah (God willing). I realize that this is a bit late and that an effort should have been made earlier, but it seems like air quality isn't improving anytime soon.
