Saving Simba the Paralyzed Cat
Simba became paralyzed a few weeks ago. His owner has taken him to the vet several times but the vets only want to talk about euthanizing him. Christina, Simba's owner is a friend of mine and I have suggested her to get a second opinion and take him to a specialty vet that I use, so she did. They too have suggested the samething. Christina has refused to give up on Simba. I have seen Simba since this has occured and he is a very content kitty. He is still grooming himself and kneading. Today, after Simba's necrotic skin began falling off she took him back in to be reexamined as the skin looks good. The vet throughly examined Simba and has stated if she wants to give Simba a chance to live it will cost approximately $6000. This is a lot of money for Christina to come up with, she has other cats to care for but does not want to give up on Simba. Neither do we. Simba needs a wheelchair and needs the money to have have surgery.
The vet has given Christina an estimate that surgery will cost $800-$900 and the post operative care will cost $5000, the wheelchair is about $250. Simba is being seen at Blue Pearl in Louisville, KY but lives in Clarksville, In. We are trying to raise enough money to ensure Simba gets everything he needs to get back to his old self.
We appreciate every donation he has received so far and greatly appreciate everything that is sharing to help Simba.
Thank you,
Samantha
