Gene Tilly's Medical Fund

Hello my name is Melissa and I would like to introduce you to my Pastor, Gene Tilly. He has been our pastor for 25 years and has made such a change in many lives including mine. He has been in the ministry for 40 years with much of the first 15 years in youth ministry. During his time here he was both pastor and youth leader. He also made a huge impact in the lives of many young Marines from Camp Lejeune by opening his home to them so that they could come to church and he and his wife were sometimes substitute parents to the young men and women. Early in his ministry here in Wilmington, Pastor Tilly was Chaplain for the Port City Roosters and he still has a relationship with some of the players today. Over the past 12 years Pastor Tilly has been a Chaplain with the New Hanover Sheriff's department, assisting with the needs of officers and citizens during times of need. But right now it is Gene Tilly that needs our help. Pastor Tilly has a very serious lung condition called Pulmonary Hypertension, this was caused by second-hand cigarette smoke and has progressed despite even the newest treatments his doctors here and at Duke have prescribed. There is a new treatment that is showing very promising results but because it is new, insurance will not cover the cost. We are endeavoring to raise the  estimated 36,000.00+ dollars for his treatment.  Please prayerfully consider helping us help this man of God that has done so much for so many people.
