Arthur Ussary Homeless Blind Vet

Donation protected
My name is Chris Holbech and I am a local Real Estate Broker in San Diego. I recently became acquainted with Artie Ussary and am one of a number of people who have been trying to help him. Until yesterday Mr Ussary was living in the parking lot of the Hillcrest DMV with his dog Rosie. The DMV people have been very understanding of his circumstances and have not asked him to leave and have helped him when they could. Artie is blind and can no longer walk without help. He is diabetic and recently suffered a heart attack and he is a combat veteran who was wounded in action in Vietnam. Artie cannot survive on the streets without the support group that he has around him in Hillcrest but sadly yesterday he was ordered to move by an Officer of the Highway Patrol Dept. Artie tried to explain that he was there with the permission of some members of the DMV but was ordered to move within the hour or he would be arrested and his little dog Rosie would be taken to the pound. Artie has been approved for residency at the Potiker Building in downtown San Diego which is a low income Senior Housing Facility and I have paid the $200 deposit but the staff at the Potiker Building are unable to to give Artie a move in date. I am trying to raise enough money to keep Artie in a cheap motel until a unit becames available in the Potiker Building and he and his dog can finaly get off the streets and any donations towards this cause would be very much appreciated. Artie no longer has the mobility scooter seen in the video as it was destroyed when someone set fire to his belongings and could no longer afford to keep the Camper Van seen in the video on the road because he cannot pay the insurance and license fees. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

I feel that no Veteran should be homeless especially if they have been wounded in action serving their country and being in a safe place until his accomodation becomes available in the Potiker Building could be the difference between Artie surviving or not surviving.

Thank you for reading this and donating.
