Helping the Heinrich's

Donation protected
This is Sandra and Kym-Marie and we are wanting to spread the word and get some funds together for our friends who are having some financial difficulties due to illness and a terrible run of bad luck.
Our 38 year old friend Damien took himself to the doctor as he had a swollen arm.  Within 3 hours he was on his way to Adelaide for a series of tests to investigate what doctors suspected was much more serious.  Multiple tests and operations over the next few weeks confirmed stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma which was present in 5 areas of his body.
With chemotherapy starting immediately he was forced to quit his job and live in Adelaide.  His wife Lana and their 3 young children aged 12 and twins 8 years were taken out of school at Keith and went to Adelaide to be with Damien.
Over the next few weeks Lana continued to travel back and forth to Keith where she has a casual job as funds were quickly being drained from there account including the house deposit  which they had saved.
Lana returned home to find their rented house 4 inches deep in water.  The switch on the water tank in the roof had malfunctioned causing water to flow down the walls like a waterfall.  With most of the furniture and belongings damaged she was able to salvage some items which is now in storage.  They are now  homeless.  The Heinrich family have not returned since.
In a cruel twist of fate on the same day Lana's mother had a nasty fall breaking her arm badly and spent weeks in ICU with complications.  Lana has also taken on the responsibility of caring for her wellbeing and finances as she can no longer support herself independently.
With the help of the Leukeamia Foundation Village in Adelaide Damien and Lana have been calling a small unit home for the time being.  But their children needed some stability and normal routine, including school.
With the help of 2 generous families in Penola the 3 children have taken up residence with them and are able to continue and finish this year at school.  But this means  the children are often seperated for days and weeks at a time.  To keep the family together  Lana continues to travel to and from Adelaide in between being with Damien during his chemotherapy, working part time in Keith and being in Penola to spend precious time with her children.  For those that are unaware this is a 1000km drive round trip.   As Lana herself is still recovering from illness this has put a big strain on her both physically and emotionally.
Damien has completed his 3rd round of chemotherapy and will continue to have treatment at this stage until March 2016.  With Damiens chemotherapy sessions this also limits him to be able to spend quality time with his family due to poor immunity and side effects of chemo.
Kym-Marie and Sandra would greatly appreciate the help, love and support of the community to help with travelling costs, medical costs, trying to help to replace furniture and with Christmas approaching hopefully they can buy the kids some much deserved presents.
Thankyou in advance for opening up your hearts and wallets for this wondrful family.
