My name is Lara and i’m 17 years old.
For as long as I can remember, my hair has been the most important thing about me. I’ve changed it a lot through my life, experimenting with how it looks. Whether that be the length or the colour.
On the 2nd July, I will be shaving my head and donating the money to two charities, sharing the money raised equally.
One of the charities is the Mental Health Foundation. I’ve struggled with mental health issues from the age of 14 and donating to a worthy cause and a charity that has helped me so much in the past means an awful lot to me.
The second charity I will be donating to is MacMillan Cancer Research. After losing close family friends to cancer, and having friends and family suffer from such an awful disease, it seems fit that my other charity is a cancer research charity. Many people die from cancer and finding a cure for it is a huge must that we need in this day and age.
