MY WALK THROUGH DEPRESSION #MWTD

My name is Donald Alford I am from Spartanburg SC . On March 15th 2019 I started a walk/fundraiser to raise awareness to suicide prevention and depression . The reason this hits me so heavily is that on February 26th 2014 my Father Thomas H Alford lost his battle with depression and committed suicide . The day of the funeral the mother of my son had a brain aneurysm and passed away . Shortly after that I spent a week at my grandparents house so I could be with my grandfather for his last moments with us after a hard fought battle with dementia . All of this at one time sent me into a deep depression that almost cost me my life I will talk more about this along the walk. As far as what the walk will consist of it will go as follows. The walk will begin in Fernandina Beach Florida and follow a path around the Florida coast for a total of just over 650 miles on foot. After every 2 days of walking I will stop in a town and do something unexpected for a stranger in that community in some way big or small depending on donations. As I arrive in the panhandle. I will then stay for a few weeks and volunteer with clean up efforts from hurricane Michael. I will continue my walk after helping the families. I will finish at the Florida/Alabama Line. I will be doing a lot of live video on my Facebook page (My Walk Through Depression ) . Please like and share the page live video will be done daily.
