Volunteer Trip With VMO Berkeley

Hi everyone, my name is Y. I am currently a student, studying Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. During the summer of 2018, I will have an opportunity to travel with Volunteer for Medical Outreach (VMO) and Aid for Children Without Parents(ACWP) to Hue and An Giang, Vietnam. During this trip, we will provide many free health care services to the disadvantaged population in Vietnam. Some of the services that we will provide are mobile clinics, hepatitis B vaccination clinics, and corrective surgeries. In addition to these services, we will also teach basic health lessons to children in school. In order to make this happen, as a VMO member, I am fundraising and collecting donations throughout this school year (2017-2018) to buy medical supplies and trip expenses. Thus, this page is to seek donations, which means all the money from your donation will go directly toward buying medical supplies and trip expenses.

In addition, this trip is very important to me because immigrating here from a disadvantaged area in Vietnam, I truly understand how hard it is to have access to health care. Many people passed away with hepatitis because they have no access to vaccination and have no knowledge about vaccination in general. Although my village is getting better now, there are still many other area in Vietnam that still desperately need help from us. Any donation will be a tremendous help.
