My Volunteer Trip to Ghana and Lima

Hi! My name is Zoë Hanna, I am 17 years old from Liverpool.
I have been given the opportunity to travel to Ghana and Lima for 6 weeks each to do voluntary work alongside the Christian Brothers who are a part of the Edmund Rice Network, in January 2018 during my gap year.
In Ghana I will be going to Kanvilli school in Tamale which is a co-educational kindergarten, primary and secondary school and here I will assist the school in teaching English to the children whilst using the knowledge I have in Textiles to help with craft activities. All I want is to know that I could of helped make a difference to someone’s life who maybe isn’t as fortunate as me and hasn’t been as lucky as I have with their education.
I am then going to fly over to Lima to assist in the building of more reliable, stable homes for the thousands of families who currently live in basic huts which could fall down easily with poor weather.
Any donations you can give, big or small, will go towards:
- Travel and flight expenses,
- My vaccinations (which I am already dreading getting),
- Building materials which are needed to build the houses for the families in Lima,
-Teaching equipment for the children in Ghana, such as: activity workbooks, pens and pencils.
I have been saving money from my part time job and will continue to save any money I earn, yet any support will be greatly appreciated. I will also be travelling with one of my friends and we are planing on doing group fundraising.
