My Kenya Volunteer Trip

My name is Emily Stacey, I'm 15 years old, and a year 11 student. I am raising money for a life changing experience supported by CAMPS International. I need to raise £4000 to pay for my trip to Kenya. My trip isn't just for fun. Its to develop skills and earn points for me to get into university and college. It also offers me a once in a lifetime opportunity and to learn what life is like in the poor regions of Kenya. I will be given projects to complete such as building schools, houses, installing water tanks, teaching the locals how to grow their own food, teaching them about healthcare and sanitation, protecting the environment by digging watering holes and helping rangers protect animals from poachers. I will also learn how to turn elephant poo into paper and make key rings out of flipflops for locals to sell to support micro-enterprise. I will also be taught Swhaili so I can communicate with the locals and meet local tribes and learn about their culture. To top it off, at the end of my 4 week stay I will get the opportunity to climb Mount Kenya and watch the sun rise which takes a staggering 4-5 days. The £4000 will pay for:
On-going pre-expedition support
Flights and in-country transfers
Travel insurance
Food and accomodation
Adventure challenge
Project costs
Leader and staff costs
CAMPS t-shirt
Orientation and language lessons
24 hour emergency support
Reserve location

(The reserve location, is a camp in Tanzania. Its a back up camp incase for whatever reason we can't cross into Kenya.)

By donating at least a pound or two would be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards the cost of the trip. For me to go to Kenya would be an amazing experience and a tick off my bucket list. I've seen the adverts on T.V and I've always wanted to donate, but instead I'll get to do it in person and be able to say 'I made a difference'.
