It is with deep sadness I write this post on this platform to ask for help. I am a single mother of 2 incredible boys and I also have a baby girl on the way, due in March of 2020. On October 11th 2019, the silent battle I told myself I had under control came full surface and my untreated post-partum depression took a turn for the worst. While seeking to get the help so many women are reluctant to obtain, the fathers of my children felt my kids would be better off without the care of their mother. On October 22nd, I lost full custody of my 14 month old followed by my 9 year old on November 6th.
I now have supervised visitation with my boys for 2-4 hours, 3 times a week. This has been the hardest experience of my life to endure all while continuing to receive treatment for my depression. My children are my world and while my 14 month old is too young to fully grasp what going on, my 9 year old is not only extremely saddened and worried about his mother, but is also very confused as to why he was ripped away from me.
My only focus is to get better for myself, my family, and to continue the fight for the return of my boys. This unfortunately comes with a very expensive price tag to retain a much needed attorney to assist in the ongoing court fight. I have done everything I can and unfortunately can no longer fight this fight on my own without proper representation. The money will be used to retain an amazing attorney and prepare for the months long road ahead to bringing my babies home. For the 9 years I have been a mother I have always heard the term "It takes a village" and never fully knew what that meant as I have raised my kids on my own and have done an amazing job. That phrase has now become the only hope I have to hold on to. If your able to find it in your heart to help, any amount you are able to contribute would be deeply appreciated! And if you are not able to contribute-saying a simple prayer of strength for me and my family is more than enough!
