The Cave is a youth circle, aiming to serve and fulfil the needs of the young muslims in the community of West Lothian. We are currently running in Broxburn, West Lothian.
We have been running for over a year holding gatherings from home, serving youth from the age of 5-16 years old in different groups and have served about 40 kids over the past year. What started of with a couple of parents who were looking for an Islamic circle for their kids turned in to a growing number and then came the idea of a youth club/group.
Our main focus is with our 9-14 year old age group, they have really found a love of the religion and see the circle as a third space between home and mosque as was our goal. Some of the activities in the group include nasheeds, mindfulness, basic Islamic teachings, stories of the Prophets etc. We have done fun events and trips and aim to do more in the future.
Primarily our goal is to help young muslims develop, be comfortable with their religion, embrace their identity, learn to have love of humanity, learning good etiquette, the love of Allah and the Prophet ﷺ and trying to establish the religion in their lives from a young age. They need this environment where they can express themselves and explore their faith in an open place.
The reason we now require funding is with our growing group we want to organise more events and trips, make this more public by holding some classes in community spaces, teaching on a bigger and better scale with improved resources, reaching out to more people and for all this we require your help!
Some of our goals for 2019
- moving in to a community hall
- Establishing a teens social circle
- Holding creative workshops
- Inviting speakers
- Events and activities (archery, self defence etc)
If you donate, your money will be used for:
- Setting up teens social circle
- Organising trips
- Organising Events
- Merchandise
- Better teaching facilities
- Venue hire (when we move)
and any other costs that come as part of running a youth circle, the money will be strictly for this cause and Insha'Allah will be accepted as a form of charity from you.
We would be extremely grateful if you could give anything you can easily afford to our cause.
