What I Need Funding For:
I am an aspiring rapper who needs funding for my first music video.
How People Will Benefit:
A lot of rap music today is very commercial and extremely negative. This has had a bad influence on young people and even society. My music is positive and has the potential to inspire anyone who listens to it. I deal with some tough topics, but strive to help listeners overcome the difficulties and obstacles they have faced.
How Will the Funds Be Used:
The funds will be used to make the video. I would like the funds by September. This support would mean a lot to me. They will not only make my dream come true, but help anyone who has struggled with school, peer pressure, bullying, adversity, and being unique. I will be very grateful for the help. I will also keep people posted on the time this video will be released.
Video Description:
My idea for this video is to make a mini movie. The concept of the video is a street kid who realizes
that he doesn’t fit in with the bad environment he's surrounded by in the streets. He goes through
obstacles such as peer pressure from his friends to buy drugs and hang in other bad neighborhoods that have a history of corruption and violence. He is a high school student who has been skipping class, which causes his grades to slip, due to the influence of the streets.
Later that night, he is chilling with his friends and a drive by happens and one of his friends
get shot. He is able to get away in his car. He becomes very shaken up from the incident
and finds out his friend died from the shooting that happened yesterday. This changes his mind set, not only about street life, but in music he listens to.
I will be rapping from the perspective of a young hoodlum. The content I choose
will talk about money, drugs, sex etc. In this mini movie, it will show his progression. He gets to understand the meaning of these songs by looking back on his life and seeing his friend die from the shooting. He starts listening to music that is not around him, but is authentic to the person he really is: a kind and loving person who likes to laugh and play video games and rap. Rap is something that really helped him through life which people in his family didn’t know about him. None of his friends knew about it either. Throughout the scenes my songs will be played, Water, Lala land, Guns, Palace , Sometimes, Pack, 2 parts. Im showing his progression lyrically and emotionally in his music. Anyone who watches the video will learn how they can change for the better.
