Mother Escaping Abusive Marriage

Dear friends,
A close friend of mine, who has an infant and a toddler, is struggling to escape an abusive marriage that is unsafe for both the mother and the children. (I am keeping her identity anonymous in part because of the stigma of having been abused, and in part to protect the family's safety.) My friend has done everything right. She has contacted children's services. She has gotten a job and moved out with the children and gotten herself an apartment. She has been sleeping on the floor because she doesn't have the money for a bed, and she wants to provide her children with what they need first. She has been working with an attorney to obtain custody and financial support. She has been working with police to file orders of protection. BUT, now tragedy has struck. The infant is now in the hospital with a number of serious health issues. Because of the time she has spent in the hospital with the infant in the last week, she has been fired from her (new) job.
Again, this is a woman who I just found out has been selflessly sleeping on the floor for weeks, just trying to keep her children safe. She doesn't even have a sleeping bag. She doesn't have access to any of her personal possessions, or the children's, because her husband is preventing her from re-entering his house to collect her belongings. And it's very hard for her to consider looking for a job right now because she cannot leave her infant unattended at the hospital where its father has access to it.
My friend has been suffering in silence. She has been trying to do it all herself. And it was not until she was fired this morning that she reached out, in tears, for help. Please help me to help her.
Please consider making a donation to help her with the following:
- Rent and utilities for a couple of months while she focuses on caring for her ailing infant
-Food, diapers, clothes, other baby stuff, etc.
-A mattress for her to sleep on
-Medical expenses for the infant
-Legal expenses
-Babysitting expenses when the infant is healthy again and she is able to start looking for another job
Please help, in any amount. And please, if you are in or near the Atlanta area and have any furniture which you could donate, especially a mattress and/or bed, please message me and I will see if we can work out the logistics to make that happen.

I am so proud of her for doing everything that she can in the face of such dire financial reprecussions. Please help me to aid her in this transition that is going to be absolutely, irrefutably critical to the physical, mental, and emotional devleopment and well-being of her two small children.
