Monroe SAR Thermal Drone Fund

Monroe County Volunteer Search and Rescue team is an all volunteer search and rescue team from Monroe County Mississippi.  We are currently seeking funds to purchase an aerial remote control drone with thermal night vision capabilities to aid in the search and rescue of lost persons.  Our team is comprised of over 30 all volunteer members and from all walks of life; civilian, fire, police, public service and military.  We travel all over the state of Mississippi at a moments notice and even farther when requested.  We spend many hours away from our families and jobs completeing training and actual missions.  We have collected over $500,000 of tools and equipment via fund raisers and donation over the past 10 years and have comprised one of the most highly trained and successful teams in our state and country.  We currently have in our inventory a daytime only capable drone which has proved invaluable in our missions.  With the addition of a night time drone our capabilities and chances of helping the next person will be greatly improved and a positive outcome much more likely.  After a recent mission to Pinson, Tennessee in the search for little Noah Chamberlin we realized just how vital a piece of equipment like this thermal drone could be right here at home and RIGHT NOW.   Our hearts are still hurting badly from this mission that no one wanted have to perform.  We are fully ready to put this new drone to work right away as we have a FAA licensed drone pilot on staff (Matt Hannon) ready to fly the drone as well as maintain and make certain missions are completed successfully and safely.  We will have over a 3 mile range with this drone and a 20 minute mission time with 4 batteries on tap for over an hour of continuous flying.  We are humbly asking for your help in completing this project and will issue you a tax receipt for your donation right away by mail or email per your choice.  Thank you for your time and donation. If you have any questions or comments please contact us right away throught he gofundme contact page.
