What Your Money Goes Towards:
Your donation would help this family build a secure foundation, help them get current on rent, keep the electricity on/cover past past due utility expenses, stock up on nutritious bulk food items, settle outstanding car costs, get safe tires and receive the automobile repairs necessary for their car to run safely.
One of our best friends and a pillar in the community, Kat is one of the most hard working, driven and passionate people we know with a deep, unwavering love for justice and the people.
In her dedication we have seen this activist-mama combat poverty with love remarkably carving “dollars out of 15 cents” for her 2 biological and 5 bonus children over the years while being primary caretaker to their ailing (and now passed on) daughter for nearly a decade.
Kat is now a single mom learning to navigate the world for the first time as the sole financial provider for her 2 children but is realizing she can barely make more than minimum wage due to her limited work experience. This has put the family in a financial hole. This family hasn’t been able to stop, heal or grieve due to all the mounting bills and past due balances. But that’s what community is for. Kat needs our help.
Kat has consistently provided for her immediate and extended family with limited outside support. We have watched her make miracles while left waiting to hear back about government services and other resources that would benefit her and the kids. We can make a difference for them today.

For over a year however, this movement leader has not been able to focus on her gifts & purpose, properly rest or deeply connect with friends.
