Momma's Safe Haven is a 501c3 Non Profit Organization that operates out of The Malcolm X Opportunity Center 1351 Alabama Avenue SE WDC 20032 Mon- Fri 12pm-8pm servicing over 40 youth ages 5-24 a day.  We offer Homework assistance with Ms. Kimberly Price, Singing lessons with Ms. Christine Warren, Sewing classes with Ms. Elvera patrick, Parenting Classes with Ms. Brenda Jones, Financial Literacy with Ms. Cynthia Eugene, Crochet with Ms. Shanique, Art Therapy with Ms. Char Brown, Black History Facts with Mr. Foster and Out of the Mouth of Babes, Filming, Writing, Stage Production, Management with Mrs. Beverly Smith-Brown, Dancing and Modeling lessons is lead by the youth.  We encourage self love, higher education and self employment by offering a support bridge to those in need of resources to get to the next level in their lives.  Momma's Safe Haven is a 2nd home for our youth after school were they receive love, attention and a place to be able express themselves freely in a structured environment. Dinner is served every night and our youth are responsible for creating their own life plan.

We have four programs to help us achieve our mission:
Black Wall Street "SOUTHEAST" with Mr. Donald Glover and Bmorenews.com- We hosted 3 Award Ceremony with over 500 people in attendance as we honored 32 businesses, individuals and organizations with a Joe Mann's BWS Award for their leadership and hardwork in our community.

Never Give Up is a program that focuses on letting go of guilt and shame, overcoming obstacles, dreaming big, working hard and never giving up on your dreams and goals.  We've hosted 4 successful Self Love events with over 300 people in attendance

#dcfilmlife is a program that gives our youth an opportunity to share their story with the world through their eyes.  We hosted our first session Summer 16 with 40 youth from SYEP and we created a short film entitled #resilience (which will premiere at our 4th Annual "DC's Youth have Talent" Black History Show)

Last but not least....
DC's Youth have Talent" is a program that focuses on giving our youth an opportunity to perform on stage.  We host over 20 shows a year and we participate in over 30. We are the curator for the Youth Stage for The Congress Heights "Art Alll Night for 3 years, 3 back to school events, Fun day, Holiday parties, Retreats and much much more.  We are getting ready for our 4th Annual "DC's Youth have Talent" Black History Show!!  Saturday February 25, 2017 at Hart Middle School 601 Mississippi Avenue SE WDC 20032 12-4pm.  This year we will be hosting our first ever "Battle of the Bands" Competition!!  We will also be Premiering #dcfilmlife Short Film #resilience.

All fof our events are FREE!!  We serve the low income community so we are counting on you all for support.  No dollar amount is too small.  It takes a village to raise a child.  United we stand divided we fall
