I am inspired to initiate this fundraiser for two reasons. 1- I LOVE my sons - and 2- Every child deserves the special love that adoptive parents bring to the table.
I have known Wes and Lillian Landers for a long time. They serve on staff as Youth Pastors at Christ Church in Huntsville, Alabama. A while back, this sweet young couple lost a child through miscarriage. Though temporarily wounded, God has strengthened their resolve and elevated their capacity to love. I suppose that's my Number 3. I want to help.
Wes and Lillian are abundant in love but diminished in resources. Unfortunately, though LOVE is free - sadly, adoption is not. In this country at this point in time, an average adoption can range from 20K to 50K. I'm believing for the TOP so there can be no doubt that this loving couple can know what I have known for 45 years..."There is no sweeter love that the authentic, unconditional love between parents and their children."
This child will know a love beyond what my sons have experienced. This child will know what it feels like to be "specifically chosen," the same as we ALL know from our Papa God.
