Reunion In Tennessee
Having ended a 20yr marriage in 2009 that had taken me to Texas, 700 miles from my nearest sister, over 1000 miles from my father and almost 2000 from my baby sister, I found myself never expecting to find love again and alone. I found Shirley, the greatest and last love of my life, and finally a son, Zackery. In the years since, my first of 2 heart attacks ended my career in law enforcement and the 10+ stents and angioplasties have forced me to reevaluate my life. I have never given up and, even though I have one of the most aggressive forms of heart disease my cardiologists have seen, I work a full time labor and logistics job at a coal mine. My wife is disabled due to back injuries and cannot work. My father and stepmom remain in east Tennessee and time is not an abundant commodity for them either. He is a minister, has a full time job, and community service champion, but he also has hemophilia and contracted H.I.V. from a blood transfusion in 1985. He has fought this for over 31yrs and it has taken its toll. In addition, his wife Judy, has lost her kidneys to cancer this past year and less than a month or so later had open heart surgery. I am not asking for riches for a vacation. I am seeking time. Time to hold them in my arms and have more than facebook for memories while we can. This money will be used for the move itself and and survival money until I can get a job,
