Citizens of the world:
Ecuador was struck by a deadly 7.8-degree earthquake on Saturday, April 16. Ecuadorians are mourning the destruction of several cities, over 500 lives lost, and thousands injured and displaced. Unfortunately the number of people injured and dead keeps increasing. Ecuador is in a state of emergency.
Rescue efforts are ongoing as there still are survivors fighting to get out of damaged buildings. Survivors and volunteers are in need of water, medicine, mattresses, warm food, non-perishable food, flashlights, helmets. etc.
As Ecuadorians living abroad, we feel the pain that our country is going through and as a result we created the movement “Minnesota por Ecuador” along with this fund to try to collect donations to directly help the ones in need with the items we mentioned above. We call all the Ecuadorians living abroad and world citizens that want to bring relief to help us through a donation. We believe if 3,000 to 5,000 caring people donate at least $10 dollars each we will be able to reach our goal. You can donate from $1 to $100+. Everything helps!
Funds will be assigned to organizations that are directly helping the affected communities. For more information please follow our Facebook page "Minnesota por Ecuador ".
Please share this request with friends and family that wish to contribute to the earthquake relief efforts. Together we can bring hope to the Ecuadorians in need.
God bless you for your help! THANK YOU!!!
Minnesota por Ecuador
Thank you to all who continue to make of this goal a reality. Your time, effort and support is extremely important in fulfilling or exceeding our goals of helping the victims of such a disastrous earthquake. Thank you very much everyone and may God bless us all.
Hello Belva Burga and Jennifer Vasquez. This is not fraudulent. Last night, we held a meeting with the committee to discuss the funds assignment. It was held in La Colonia Restaurant in NE Minneapolis. In the meeting were present over 80 people of the Ecuadorian community as well as the Consul of our country, she can testify that this is not a fraudulent movement. You can call the consulate of Ecuador at 612 721 6468 to verify this information. Funds will be distributed project based with entities and people that are directly assisting the ones in need in Manabí, Quito and Guayaquil among the other places. No government agency will receive these funds. You can call or text me at 612-267-0925 with any inquiry. My name is Lissette Prendes, you can add me on facebook or find me on LinkedIn, I will be happy to give you a summary of yesterday's meetings. We also will like to set up a system of volunteer, so please feel free to reach out if you are interested. I was part of the meeting but not a member of the committee, so I can give you my testimony as an attendee. Jennifer - People behind this page is a group of Ecuadorians independent, they got organized this past Sunday to raise funds for the ones in need. You can call Sergio Jara, at 6123865189, he is the main contact for the movement. Hope this cleared out questions. Call the consulate if you have doubts of the movement, call Sergio to help as a volunteer and call me if you would like testimony from an attendee.
Jennifer Vazquez and Belva Burga, come to one of the meetings with the people that are organizing how to help in this tragedy, that way you will get your questions answered and you could also be a volunteer in the diferent logistics and projects that are being developed to help the people of Ecuador. May God bless both of your souls.
Hi, I would like to know who is behind this page. How is the money to be distributed to those affected? Is this money to be given to an organization or what? I would like to know. Thanks.
I share the same concern as Jennifer Vazquez.
