Hello, my name is Ruby Brooks! I am a 6th grade student at Gray Middle School and am 11 years old. I am an average kid that enjoys cheer, tumbling, singing, playing, and hanging out with my friends and family. I have two dogs, my stepmom, and my dad who I love very much.
Before I was born my dad joined the United States Marines and served from 2000-2004. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and I cannot tell you how much I look up to him today. He is my role model and I want to be just like him one day and join the military too. Growing up, I realized that some families do not get to see their loved ones return from war and families are extremely worried about their relatives in war.
So I need your help! I want to make sure those families know that people are there to support their loved ones in the military. My plan is to get a group together to make gift boxes full of toiletries, food, drinks, snacks, and a blanket in each one. I have teamed up with Yellow Ribbon Support Center for this project to take care of shipping the gift boxes and plan to send them in April/May of 2018.
You can help by donating funds to this cause so that we can purchase the items for the gift boxes and fabric to make the blankets. These funds will go to a good cause and show the military your appreciation and support! Any little bit helps!
