Marathon miles for BAWSI
$1,127 of $840 goal
As many of you know, I ran collegiately at the University of San Francisco and I am now coaching cross country and track at Bishop O'Dowd High School.
What you might not know is that I am currently training for my first marathon, the Morgan Hills Marathon on October 25th! My goal is to run under 3 hours and 35minutes and qualify for the Boston Marathon.
Now this is where you come in....
Over the next 6 weeks I will run 420 miles as I continue to train for the race (about 70 miles per week). My goal is to raise $2 for each mile that I run...for a total of $840. All the money raised will go to support the Bay Area Women's Sport Initiative (BASWI) an amazing non profit organization I previously worked for. Founded by U.S. Soccer legends Brandi Chastain and Julie Foudy, BAWSI works to empower girls and women through sport by providing athletic opportunities for underserved girls in our community who otherwise would never have a chance to be a part of a team. Check them out at www.bawsi.org or ask me- I would love to brag about the great work they do :)
Thank you in advance for your support and love.
See you at the finish line.
