Hurricane Harvey Animal Rescue

Hey everyone,
As you are aware, Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas has resulted in thousands of people losing their homes and virtually everything they have. Not only are humans in this area affected so deeply, but so are their loving pets -- along with wildlife and many other species.
I have personally spoken with volunteer managers and executive assistants for "Austin Pets Alive" in Austin, Texas who are receiving the huge influx of animals rescued from the Houston area. I worked in animal sheltering for five years along with a year in veterinary medicine. Based on my skills, they have designated me to help with their intake procedures where I will assist in health assessments as found animals arrive from Houston. I may also help in transporting, cleaning/feeding of the animals already received, and really whatever else is needed.

It is heart breaking to say I received news today that people in boats are trying to rescue animals from flooded Houston shelters right now, and the feat appears almost impossible. It's truly too agonizing to comprehend. They will need help when the waters recede.
During this mission, my own fur children will be at home, safe and snuggly on the couch. This motivates me to bring comfort to those who have not yet arrived back at their very own family and safe haven. Please sponsor/donate so I can fly out and provide for animals in need.
I understand what it means to have a dollar, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart if you decide to spare me any of yours.

My withdrawal plan includes depositing the donations into my bank account and using that to pay for hotel, traveling to/from the animal shelter and any extra money left over will be donated directly to Austin Pets Alive shelter while I am there.
I have already given Austin Pets Alive their donation check on Sunday 9/17. I am utilizing my time by also traveling to Houston Pets Alive to volunteer.
I am from the San Francisco, Bay Area in California. My relations to Austin Pets Alive prior to traveling included email exchanges with the volunteer manager on what shifts I would be most needed.

I am planning to book flights for mid September or later, whenever they contact letting me know I am most needed. In order to leave promptly, I need to raise the money as soon as humanly possible.
I have such a sense of urgency from within myself to help aid in this relief effort for these beautiful beings that bring us such peace and companionship. Thank you kindly, for your time. Michelle
