Arctic Ultra Helping Corks Homeless
Donation protected
I have been accepted to take part in one of the world toughest events the 6633 Arctic Ultra….So what is the 6633 ultra…. It’s a non-stop, self-supported foot race taking place in the north of Canada. Starting from Eagle Plains, Yukon, it passes through the Arctic Circle (which has coordinates of 66° 33′ 39″ hence the name of the race) on the Dempster Highway, continuing to the banks of the Arctic Ocean and ending in Tuktoyaktuk. I will have to negotiate 563km (350 miles) of the most remote and inhospitable landscape known to man. Nature will no doubt provide me with some special weather conditions to deal with… especially in ‘Hurricane Alley.’ Winds will blow up to 120km/h and temperatures will plummet to about -50°C. Add to this the gruelling distance and we will pull our own provisions in pulks sled weighing about 30kg plus ….The temperatures will be extreme, the winds powerful and the nights long and dark. I am doing this to raise awareness and funds for Helping corks homeless
