Hello everyone!
As many of you know, last year I went on a volunteer trip to Capetown, South Africa. For two weeks, we served in some of South Africa's most impoverished townships at children's homes, old folk's homes, and homeless shelters. We took time to learn about the history and culture of South Africa and get to know some of its amazing inhabitants. It was an incredible and transformative experience, and I have been lucky enough to get selected to go again: this time, as a team-leader.
As a team leader, I help with various logistics of retreats and meetings leading up to our departure and the execution of the departure itself. While I do help with planning, scheduling, etc., I am also there to serve as a group leader and a person of trust and support for anyone in our group that may need it. Raising a lot of money and traveling outside of the country can be quite overwhelming. As a team leader it is my responsibility to assist everyone in feeling as comfortable, capable, and excited as I was and currently am.
So, here comes the part you have all been waiting for... :). I will have to raise $1800 again to cover the cost of airfare, lodging, and meals while abroad, so I am creating this GoFundMe to ask you guys for any help you can give. Even small donations go a long way! I need to have all the money raised by April, but I have bi-monthly goals to reach along the way, so the sooner you can donate, the better.
I want to thank everyone in advance again because opportunities like this would not be possible without people like you, and I am incredibly grateful. I firmly believe in the good that the Ignacio Volunteer program does for our global community, and this program is very important to me.
