Short Summary
Hi there! I'm from a small town in Vermont, the only landlocked New England state. Although we have no ocean, we have Lake Champlain; a small body of water aspiring to be one of the Great Lakes. Like Lake Champlain, I want to be a little more than what I am.
What We Need & What You Get
The funding costs will cover the construction of the silicone tail costume, and shipping fees for the item. The tails tend to have a dry weight of 40-50 pounds which leads to hefty shipping costs. I'm looking to purchase a Silicone tail from the Mertailor with dorsal, side, and ankle fins for a realistic effect.
I'm offering perks such as photoshoots, appearances, and mermaid gifts for contributors.
I've selected a campaign style to let me continue towards my goal, funds should remain as part of the campaign until my goal is reached.
The Impact
I'd like to begin my "mermaid journey" with volunteer work with children. I would begin with story time and ocean education at Echo, my local aquarium. I would also like to lift children's spirits with visits to the nearby Ronald McDonald house. I'd like to show children that the world can be a mystical place. As I progress, I'd like to continue on with volunteer work, but also expand to parties, appearances, photoshoots, and underwater performances.
Risks & Challenges
I've been training my skills for performances, and practicing mermaid-style swimming. I've been working towards doing everything possible to bring magic and realism to my mermaid performances. I originally worked with a cloth tail, but those are not nearly realistic enough and can ruin the illusion for some children.

My goal is to become a professional mermaid performer, but what's a mermaid without her tail! Swimming beneath the surface helps me feel relaxed and it is one of my favorite feelings. I would love to provide a 'splash' as a volunteer mermaid entertainer for charity events, especially those to save the ocean, or for children. Life keeps getting in the way of acheiving my goal of purchasing my own mermaid tail. It would be amazing if anyone could donate even a small amount to help me reach this. If you are a photographer, I will do photoshoots once I receive my tail in exchange for donations, or with a high enough donation I can entertain for a party within Vermont, New Hampshire, or parts of New York. Please help the fish get her tail, thank you!
